Stylist (also known as fashion stylists or personal stylists) create distinctive and unique looks for models, actors, and other celebrities. They clothe stars and starlets for the red carpet, TV-shows and photoshoots.

Aspiring stylists need to have an eye for aesthetics, extraordinary capabilities in visual thinking and a very good feeling for future trends. As a matter of fact, stylists not only have to be always up to date, but they also need to predict and be part of or even set new standards and trends.

In addition to those skills, a stylist is required to have good knowledge of different clothing materials, cuts and styles as well as fashion history. Stylists also need to be able to handle classic tools to alter clothes, because they are responsible for the outfit and overall look of the models. For photo shootings, this means that the clothes of a model have to match perfectly with the scenery and surroundings. For fashion shows, stylists have to work together closely with stage designers and constructors to create a convincing overall experience for the models and audience.
